During the first unit the key definitions relating to artificial intelligence are provided, along with an artificial intelligence glossary and a list of terms and concepts that are related to A.I. The history of the development of artificial intelligence is also presented, a history which ranges from ancient times up until today. In this unit, the main applications of artificial intelligence are presented, along with the key risks that have been identified. In addition, current limitations of artificial intelligence are also discussed. The unit also presents the OECD AI Principles, as well as the OECD AI policy observatory. In terms of policy, the unit includes examples from national artificial intelligence plans and strategies worldwide.
In the second unit, the role of artificial intelligence in business is discussed in terms of business intelligence and management, marketing, and finance. The growing correlation between artificial intelligence and sustainability is then introduced along with relating challenges and ethical considerations. The unit also covers a detailed analysis of the various artificial intelligence applications in relation to environmental impact, supply chain transparency, sustainable investing, social impact, and corporate governance. Finally, the unit provides information on how artificial intelligence can be utilized towards the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
